Since we had spread the news about the great time we had experienced in 2011 our numbers increased. We had twenty-one people join us this year; we even decided to bring the kids along! Some of the guests traveled from North Carolina to join in on the fall fun. Instead of limiting ourselves to a late evening we made a day of it. We even reserved a campfire, they supplied the wood and bales of straw as seating and we ordered the hotdog roast package to make the day more enjoyable. The roast package included our hotdogs, buns, chips, sodas and all of the stuff needed to go along with eating them.
Almost immediately we had the fire lit and began roasting while the kids ran around enjoying the activities. We caught the last hog race and canon demonstration of the evening before we hit the hayride; we wanted to wait for darkness before we did the corn maze.
Grabbing flashlights we navigated the twisting, turning paths of the eight acre corn maze. We attempted to find the clues to the trivia questions scattered through the maze but again this year we were unsuccessful. It was great fun trying though.
Since we were not successful in finishing the maze I guess that only means we need to try again next year! The only problem with that is it will be an entirely new maze again!
