The Amazing Race is one of my favorite TV shows; I love to follow as the teams race around the world. I often see places I have visited and then again I find places I want to visit. I love watching the teams race and see the problems they encounter as they travel. It is always interesting to see who will survive to win the one million dollars.
However the Race for the Cure is more important, it is not a reality show, it is reality. It is a race to raise funds and awareness for the treatment and cure of breast cancer. Winning this race is not about seeing if you can survive to win money; it is about winning and surviving to live. It is not about whether you can beat other teams but if you can beat cancer.
I have auditioned for The Amazing Race but I was not chosen to participate. I did not have to audition or be selected to participate in the Race for the Cure. I did it to support a friend and the cause.
So congratulations to my team for another successful race, I am proud to be on your team and wear our pink “Bras for the Cause.” You girls are the "Bess-as!"
