When I traveled with my girls they did not have cell phones, Itouches or I pads. They didn't have electronics at all. They had story books, coloring books and other small toys. When they got older they had small hand held battery operated games and later a TV with videotapes.
Most of today’s kids don't go to the grocery store or even to school without their electronics. I was really wondering how my granddaughters would be on a road trip? This will be a new experience for me, traveling with the electronic techie generation.
In preparation I bought colored pencils, puzzle books and books with maps so they could follow along on our journey plus a deck of playing cards. I also bought them each a bracelet kit when alphabet letters so we could practice spelling. And of course I stocked up on drinks and snacks to take along for the ride.
Time will tell how this all works out…I will get back to you on the outcome later!
