Now I don't think of myself as a superstitious person, I don't turn around when a black cat crosses my path and I don't hide away in my house on Friday the 13th, but I never travel without my St. Christopher medal. It is like a spiritual insurance policy. I am not alone with this thought, I once met a flight attendant that traveled with St. Chris and St. Jude too!
St. Christopher is the patron saint of travelers. And I know of at least one occasion that St. Christopher helped me. I had an early flight out of Charlotte and had mistakenly set my alarm clock for P.M. instead of A.M.
My alarm clock was supposed to go off at 4:15 A.M. but I screwed up because I can’t see without glasses now (I hate getting old!) and I didn’t change the time to A.M. from P.M.! I woke up just by chance at 5 A.M. for my 6 A.M. flight! I ran out the door headed to the airport since it was about twenty-five miles away, I prayed a lot to St. Christopher as I raced off to the airport. He was there with me and I made it to the airport safe and onto my flight!
I think he has also helped me with a few near misses as I travel on America's highways.
As I prepare to take off again I hope St. Chris is packed and ready to go too!
