This three day event celebrates all of the fun and wacky things that duct tape can be used for. It includes games, fashion, art sculptures and even a parade. Even more exciting this family friendly event is totally free. Oh and let’s not forget the carnival rides, games and totally unhealthy food!
This year’s theme was Duck Tape on Safari. The event included a scavenger hunt around the festival grounds in search of wildlife. We hunted for lions, gorilla, giraffe, baboons, lizards and of course elephants. At the end of the safari participants received a small roll of colorful duct tape.
In the Ducktivities tent visitors were busy making various items from duct tape. My granddaughter with a lot of help from four adults, made a safari hat and camouflage tie for her dad for Father’s Day. (Oh yes, let me send out a Happy belated Father’s Day to all of the dads out there!)
She had such a great time we went back a second day and made a large beach bag and roses. Of course after finishing the project we again needed to purchase a frozen chocolate cheesecake on a stick!
If you are ever in Avon during the Duct Tape Festival do stop, you won’t be disappointed.
