So we are talking about basically a plane that was flying about 1/4 full. If the fare wasn't so high the plane may have been full.
Talking to a lady that flew in from Philly to ATL she said her plane had even less than 30! My flight leaving ATL, now that everyone had been shuttled in had more passengers but was by no means filled to capacity.
Either the airlines need to lower the fares to fill the planes or just fly empty. If 122 passengers paid $100 a flight wouldn't it be better than 30 passengers paying $150 a flight? I am not an accountant or financial advisor but it seems the bottom line is apparent.
